Power Baseball League: Data Mapping

President's at Nationals park
My other favorite part of going to baseball games at Nationals park is seeing the presidents!

Now that we have figured out our core goals for phase 1, we need to figure out how all this data links together. Today we are going to walk through a data mapping exercise for the Power Baseball League.

We start with the core data points we have identified and start to break down the data that is a part of those records. Then we talk about how those records will relate to other records. This even leads into additional potential requirements, maybe for Phase 1 but maybe not until future phases.

Watch how we worked through the process here:

After you watch the video, you can check out the draft data map we came up with. You will notice the items in blue relate to Phase 1 and other items won’t be needed until future phases.

How do you handle data mapping? What would you do differently?

This is part of the Power Baseball League Series with Malcolm McAuley (follow him on LinkedInTwitter or his Blog). You can follow the series on the Power Baseball League Series Page and the Power Baseball League YouTube Playlist as they are added.
