2020 DMV Regional Chapter Meeting

This year marks the 4th annual DMV Regional Chapter meeting! In this event we bring together the Washington, DC; Reston, VA; and Richmond, VA chapters for a special full-day chapter meeting. Of course, this year is a little different and so our meeting will be virtual. That means that everyone is invited to the 2020 DMV Regional Chapter meeting!

I want to give you a quick preview of the agenda and descriptions for the awesome sessions. Make sure you are a member of the Washington, DC Community to stay up to date on the event and other events we host. (Remember: it is free to join the user group and free to attend any of the chapter meetings or live webinars!)

Agenda

Here is the planned agenda for the 2020 DMV Regional Chapter Meeting. Our content will be focused on Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform. At the end of the event, we will have time for a roundtable discussion and happy hour (of course!).

Getting Started with Approval Flows in Dynamics 365

Speaker: Geoff Ables

Session Title: Getting Started with Approval Flows for Dynamics 365

Description:

Now it’s more important than ever before to get things done remotely and efficiently. Using Power Automate approvals is a great way to keep the team engaged, keep projects and proposals moving forward, and to ensure that proper audits are done.

In this session you’ll learn how to create your first approval flow, how to modify it to handle automated tracking, and some of the gotchas that can cost your team lost time and frustration if you don’t plan ahead.

Plumbing CDS with Pipelines

Speaker: James Studer

Speaker Bio: My name is James Studer, and I have almost a decade of experience working with Microsoft Dynamics from a functional and technical approach.  I hold a Master’s degree in Information Technology Management with under-graduate in Software Engineering, along with multiple certifications.  I enjoy finding solutions to complex problems from extending CDS to complex integrations with other platforms.

Session Title: Plumbing CDS with Pipelines

Description: Discuss how Azure DevOps Pipelines / CICD can be utilized for deploying configuration data and solutions within CDS, backup and deploy PowerPortal customizations

Zero to Hero in Power Virtual Agents in 40 Minutes

Speaker: Prashant Bhoyar

(formerly Portal Solutions), one of the top 30 advisory and accounting firms in the United States. He is a trusted advisor and Subject Matter Expert in Intelligent Business Process Automation, development and post-implementation adoption of complex custom solutions in AI, Machine Learning, Bots, Azure, Office 365, and SharePoint. Prashant has supported a multitude of government agencies and non-profit organizations in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Prashant is the co-author of the book “PowerShell for Office 365 “and is the technical reviewer of the book “Pro SharePoint 2013 Administration.” He serves on the leadership committee for the Azure Data Fest conference, Artificial Intelligence Fest conference, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning User Group, DC Metro Office 365 User Group, SharePoint Saturday Baltimore event, and SharePoint Saturday Washington DC event. Session Title: Zero to Hero in Power Virtual Agents in 40 Minutes

Description:
